J-E-T-S! Jets! Jets! Jets! Plaxico Burress Man or Myth? My baby is back... Finally!!! :)

JETS WR Plaxico Burress in the 2011 NFL Season
After 6 weeks of watching the Jets, which has now become my second favorite NFL Team since gaining Plaxico Burress post-injury/incarceration in the 2011 season, I can now say finally, the Plaxico Burress I remember from the winning days of the Giants is back.
I kept watching the Jets games longingly week after week hoping this fine, sexy, muscular, sculpted, quick, agile, talented being would demonstrate all his athletic prowess like he did for the Giants in the days 2008 SuperBowl XLII winning season.  I wanted to see the power and speed that allowed him and that overated Eli Manning to ring in touchdown after touchdown game after game.

Unfortunately, week after week I was disappointed.  I kept yelling at the screen, "Plaxico! Baby! Please show up this week! Please? Do something this game Baby! Please?"  And week after week my pleas went unanswered and I was left to hope for something better the next week.  I remember thinking to myself, "was I imagining his pre-incarceration exhibition of skills?  Was he ever really that good?  Was I so blinded by his good looks, sexiness, uber smooth way of moving around the field, and my general love of the Giants that I mistakenly overestimated his ability?"

Now I can say with all certainty, "Definitely Not!"  On Sunday 10/23/2011 1pm EST when the Jets met the Chargers, my request was answered.  My baby Burress showed up and showed out.  As you can see in the footage in this link from newyorkjets.com"Jets WR Plaxico Burress had a Hall of Fame day with three touchdowns in the Chargers-Jets matchup quickly becoming QB Mark Sanchez red zone target."

Also, acording to a sportsillustrated.cnn.com article, "One trip into the end zone wasn't enough for Plaxico Burress. Neither was two. One touchdown catch after another, Burress had the big breakout game he and the New York Jets have been expecting. The veteran wide receiver tied a career high by catching three TD passes, including the go-ahead score that was set up by another interception by Darrelle Revis , and the Jets stormed back in the second half to defeat the San Diego Chargers 27-21 on Sunday. "Every morning you wake up on Sundays and you want to be great," said Burress, who has been slow to develop a rapport with quarterback Mark Sanchez . "I had to let the game come to me. I think I've been forcing it. But this was them saying, 'He's been working hard, we'll stick with it.' "The fans pay money to come see you do well, and I felt for the past few weeks I was not playing well. This is gratifying."
